Beach
Dymchurch is well known for its glorious beach which attracts many thousands of visitors every year. The sandy beach is quite flat and stretches from north to south for over three miles, and is frequently 'washed' by the tide of the English Channel.
Dymchurch beach provides safe sea bathing in the haven of Romney Bay and miles of fine sand to build all the castles you want, play beach sports, have a swim in the sea or just laze around. You can also enjoy a donkey ride.
The beach is very close to all the facilities of Dymchurch village, including cafes, restaurants, pubs and amusements. During the summer months there is a beach manager on hand with help and advice.

NB Users of the beach should observe the notices at every access point to the beach, that the revetment sea defence can be slippery. Designated steps with handrails should be used to access the beach.
Sea Water Quality
The Environment Agency monitors and assesses bathing water quality at each designated bathing water in England & Wales annually between May and September. The monitoring results and annual compliance are all published on the Environment Agency website.

Dogs on the Beach
Dogs are banned on the beach each year 1 May to 30 September, from Sycamore Gardens in the north, to the Martello car park to the south. When on the beach, this is the area from groyne number 15 in the north to groyne number 26 in the south. The groyne numbers are marked on the sea side of the sea wall. [see map right]
You are free to walks your dog(s) on the beach from 1 October to 30 April.
Please clean up after your dog and use the many dog-waste bins available.

Dymchurch Beachcam
You can view realtime pictures streamed live from Dymchurch beach. The beachcam provides live information on the tide for fisherman and others wishing to use the beach for leisure. Toilets
The main public toilets are adjacent to the central car park in the High Street. [see map right] They are open throughout the year during daylight hours and closed at night. There also toilets just off the beach.
Watersports
Dymchurch offers one of the best beaches from which to launch along the entire South Coast and is an ideal location from which to go sea fishing. The Dymchurch and District Sea Angling Club has its premises on the sea wall.

Personal Water Craft
Personal Water Craft, commonly known as jet-skis are not permitted to launch from the central slipway at Dymchurch.
Personal Water Craft are permitted to launch at High Knocke Slipway, accessible via the Martello Tower no.25 Car Park, the entrance is opposite Tesco Express and on the same side as the Ocean Public House.
