Britannia Inn

The Britannia Inn is located on Dungeness between the two lighthouses and within a few minutes walk of the Dungeness station of the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway. A renowned pub and restaurant which serves a full range of meals, including fish & chips and other home cooked food.

A two minute walk from the shingle beach, via a walkway opposite, this pub is in the centre of the Dungeness estate, a Site of Special Scientific Interest and home to some extremely rare plants and wildlife.

The Britannia is open all day throughout the summer months. Winter sees it open at lunchtimes and evenings, when a real fire keeps everyone warm. 

Dungeness is a unique environment that has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and, as a result, has captured the imagination of photographers and artists for years.

Food

The Britannia Inn serves a range of traditional English dishes with fish speciality and home-cooked food. Their extensive menu includes vegetarian options and children’s dishes hopes to cater for every customer’s needs.

There is seating for 100 people in the restaurant and conservatory area plus over 50 private car parking spaces outside the pub on the concrete and the grass. Celebration meals, coach parties, family gatherings and car/motor/cycle clubs' lunches are most welcome and expertly organised. Separate adults dining area and families dining area are aimed to suit everyone's needs. Wheelchairs access and disabled toilet are available.

In the summer months, food is served:

       Monday to Friday                  12 noon to 6pm      
       Saturday                               12 noon to 8pm
       Sundays & Bank Holidays    12 noon to 6pm

If you fancy a meal with a fantastic view of the second largest shingle bank in the world, the pub also has an outside area of a capacity of 50-60 customers for eating and drinking.
