Lydd Town Museum

Lydd Town Museum was created in 1979 to reflect the uniqueness of Lydd and to gather as much information as possible about this historic town and the area in which it is located. The museum reflects much of the history of the area and offers an interesting insight into what is a fascinating part of Kent.

The museum caters for many subjects of historical interest, including the Fire Service, the Army and the Royal Flying Corps, Lighthouses, Fishing at Dungeness, Farming and many of the other local activities and events that have taken place in and around Lydd.

The Museum is run entirely by volunteers and is under the custody and control of the charity The Friends of Lydd.

The museum has a new exhibit for 2016 - Queen Elizabeth II and costumes through her Reign
