Lydd Angling Club is a friendly committee organised club, whose aim is to promote angling for all, from the seriously dedicated to the pleasure angler just wanting a day at the waters edge.
The club fishes in freshwater lakes on Dungeness and near Lydd, including Herons Park Waters and Long Pits, and on the river Rother in East Sussex and Kent, and on the Royal Military Canal.
They welcome all new members so come and see them at one of their home matches for a chat and look round.

Lydd Angling Club
Based at Lydd Airport, the Lydd Aero Club is a CAA Approved Training Organisation (ATO) established over 14 years ago providing all training facilities for the full European Private Pilot Licence (EASA-PPL) - National PPL - and Instrument Training.
Always wanted to fly a plane or just to fly for fun - Lydd Aero Club is the place to come. As an ATO, we conduct all lessons - Trial Lessons - Experience Flights - Pilot Training - with the same level of professionalism.
Getting together a group of fellow pilots in order to buy and operate a plane makes financial sense. For those who wish to own an aircraft share we offer a Group Ownership Scheme. This provides a package involving sourcing, purchase and management of a suitable aircraft.

Lydd Aero Club
The Lydd Cricket Club are a friendly playing cricket club and who play all their matches on Sundays. They play their matches at the Banks sports and social club, located down Dennes Lane in Lydd, most easily found by turning down the small road opposite Lydd church from the High Street.
The pitch is well drained with an uneven outfield, which can get windy at times. The clubhouse has a fully working bar with a dart board and a very old pool table. They also have an indoor net. They tour once a year; in 2016 they toured to the Ilse of Wight.

Lydd Cricket Club
Lydd Ex-Servicemens Club is a newly (2017) club formed to:
- support the local Armed Forces community with the support of the Lydd Town Council in line with the Armed Forces Covenant.
- support our Armed Forces by fundraising for associated charities.
- provide assistance to all serving personal both regular and reservists, veterans and military families in all aspects of transition from military life to civilian life.
- offer confidential advice on social welfare, housing, medical and financial issues.
Membership is open to all male and female members of the Armed Forces and their families both serving and ex-serving.

Lydd Forge Art Group was founded in Lydd's old forge house.
We are a small group of like minded artists that meet regularly every 3rd Friday evening in the month, to watch a guest artist demonstrate a particular method or style of Painting.
In addition to our demonstrations, on the 4th Saturday on February to May, we organise workshops from 10am to 4pm. Our demonstrations are held in the evenings between 7.30 and 9.30pm, to enable members or guests attend who are still working to come along and enjoy our activities.
In additions to our demonstrations and workshops, we hold three exhibitions a year. These give our members the opportunity to display and sell their work. the exhibitions are usually held over the Easter and August Bank Holiday breaks and a final Autumn show in October. There is a small exhibiting fee to hang your painting, however, our exhibitions are very popular..

Lydd Town FC play their home games at The Lindsey Field, Dengemarsh Road in Lydd. The first team are in the Invicta League and the reserves in the Haart of Kent County League Division Two East.

1st Lydd Scout Group headquarters are based at Dennes Lane, Lydd. They have Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers and are open to both boys and girls.
Beavers Focus on Fun and friendhsip play games, do activities such as cooking, acting, painting and many more They also have sleepovers and are taught basic aspects of scouting as well as earning badges.
Ages 6 years to 8 years meet on Tuesdays 5.30pm to 7pm
Cubs The focus is character building and values but most importantly Fun. They do a varied amount of activities from arts and crafts to cooking learning about their
environment, cooking outdoors, camping and earning badges along the way.
Ages 8 years to 10½ years meet on Mondays 6.15pm to 8pm
Scout/Explorer Outdoor activities such as camping and having adventures, learning skills such as map reading, knots, camp cooking and first Aid even international
trips as well as gaining badges. Explorers are encouraged to lead themselves and they also have the opportunity of doing their young leader training.
Ages 10½ years to 18 years meet on Fridays 7pm to 9.30pm
The group is also able to give a scouting adventure to adult volunteers.

The Friends of Lydd, Registered Charity No. 274692, are an history society and are the custodians of the Lydd Town Museum, which opens daily during the summer months plus bank holiday weekends. The museum is situated in the old fire station Queens Road, Lydd and was first opened in 1978.
Meetings are held monthly in Hardy Hall, Skinner Road, Lydd on 3rd Wednesday each month at 7.30 pm, when speakers are engaged to give talks and at times slides or films covering their subject. These talks are varied and of interest to the majority of members and we do encourage visitors to our meetings for a small fee to help cover the costs and in the hope of enrolling new members.
The subscription is currently £5 per year per member and, providing the number are kept up, this will continue for the foreseeable future. For information about membership please

Lydd Golf Club
Lydd War Memorial Institute is a well established members club which has been open for many years. Located in Station Road in Lydd, the Institute offers a warm and friendly atmosphere for all.
The club premises were originally an old army drill shed and has remembrance plaques on the Station Road entrance listing local serviceman that died during the 1st and 2nd World War. Hence the name Lydd War Memorial Institute club.
Regular activities are held at different times during the week, including league pool, mens and womans league darts, league cribbage, fitness classes and bingo. There is booked entertainment scheduled throughout the year
The club's hall, with a capacity is 100 but will hold 120 which includes staff and guests, is available for hire. Unfortunately, there are no disabled facilities provided.

New members are welcomed. Membership fees as at June 2021 are: Joining Fee £10·00, Joint membership £16·00, Single Membership £9·50 with concessions for Senior Citizens.

Lydd Model Flying Club is a BMFA-registered Model Aero Club located between Lydd and Old Romney. The focus of the club is to bring together people in the South East Kent area who have an interest in radio-controlled fixed wing flight.
Lydd Model Flying Club has been flying for over 20 years. The club originally flew from a field over towards Camber, then moved to a field just outside Lydd, then around 1986 to its present location. The club has a number of members young and not so young, they also cater for, and make welcome. disabled members. They fly many types of aircraft, from the basic trainer to scale warbirds, aerobatics and jets. We are a fixed wing club as we have found that unfortunately helicopters and fixed wing do not always mix with safety.

Based just south of Lydd, the Lydd Waterski Club is a long-established family friendly club that caters for all types of water based activities including slalom-skiing, barefoot-skiing, knee-boarding, wake-boarding, jet-skiing and recreational inflatables.
With its own freshwater lake, members are either syndicate or private boat owners who enjoy the open space, the excellent facilites and the varied social calender that the club offers.
There are a limited number of static and touring caravans that occassionally come up for sale if a member leaves, and a clubhouse with its own showers, kitchen and toilet facilities.

Lydd Waterski Club
Lydd Youth Set is a charitable organisation that provides social activities for younger people. The Youth Set meets in the Granary, on Manor Road, Lydd on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays in term time. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the sessions are from 7pm to 8.30pm for youngsters from 11 upwards, and the Thursday session is for the younger, primary aged children. Extra social and fund raising activities are arranged from time to time.

The White Cliff Shooting Club aims to provide the opportunity for members to enjoy shooting full bore and small bore pistols and rifles, and tp provide tuition for new members unfamiliar with the safe use of firearms. The club provides a safe and enjoyable environment for members to practice the sport of target shooting at Lydd Ranges. Sessions are organised twice per month with activities ranging from 100m group and zero to 1200m falling plate details. The White Cliffs Shooting Club is NRA (National Rifle Association) affiliated.
The club welcomes new members including current licence holders and those new to target shooting.
