Dogs on Beaches
Dogs are banned from four of the beaches on Romney Marsh from 1 May to 30 September. To find out where the banned areas are, please scroll down the page.
You are free to walks your dog(s) on the beaches from 1 October to 30 April. Please keep your dog under control at all times and clean up after your dog, using the many waste bins available.
Dogs are banned on part of the beach each year from 1 May to 30 September. The banned area is from Sycamore Gardens southwards to the Martello car park to the south. When on the beach, this is the area from groyne number 15 in the north to groyne number 26 in the south. The groyne numbers are marked on the sea side of the sea wall.

Dogs are banned on two sections of the beach from 1 May to 30 September each year. Section 1 is from opposite The Jolly Fisherman southwards to opposite no. 17 The Parade. Section 2 is from no. 114 The Parade southwards to no, 172 The Parade. Section 2 is the area of beach opposite to the Romney Sands Holiday Park.

Travelling with Dogs
Buses
One accompanied, well-behaved dog which will not be a danger or a nuisance for others on the bus is allowed to travel with you on Stagecoach buses at the discretion of the driver who may reasonably decide where on the bus the animal is best carried.
Guide dogs, hearing or assistance dogs accompanying registered disabled persons are carried free of charge at any time. Assistance dogs should wear their harness or identification jacket when travelling.
RH&DR
Dogs are welcome on all of RH&DR trains and are welcome to relax in the gardens and picnic areas.
